How to COMPLETELY uninstall Quickbooks 2021 (or any edition)?

I am trying to resolve an issue where some have indicated that an installation of Quickbooks 2021 Desktop did not fully register all DLLs.   The advice was to uninstall Quickbooks, reboot and reinstall.

These are the steps normally given:

Solution 2: Uninstall QuickBooks and manually rename the installation folders

  1. Uninstall QuickBooks
  2. Follow the steps to display hidden files.
  3. Open the Windows Start menu. Search for “File Explorer”, then open File Explorer.
  4. Find and open the folder that holds your QuickBooks company files. This is usually your QuickBooks folder. It's usually in one of these locations:
    1. C:\ProgramData\Intuit\QuickBooks (year)
    2. C:\Users\(current user)\AppData\Local\Intuit\QuickBooks (year)
    3. C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks (year)
    4. 64-bit version C:\Program Files (x86)\Intuit\QuickBooks (year)
  5. Right-click the folder and select Rename.
  6. Add the word "old" at the end of the folder name. This prevents QuickBooks from opening it when you reinstall.
  7. Reinstall QuickBooks Desktop.

I have followed those steps but it was abundantly clear during the reinstall step that there are significant parts of Quickbooks that remain "installed".  For example, on reinstall the license is populated rather than blank.  I am also suspecting that other registry entries or configuration settings remain disbursed on the system because, well frankly, I don't trust Windows or Quickbooks when they say that the software is being "uninstalled".

Is there a utility that full removed EVERYTHING that Quickbooks installed?   Are there steps of addition directories, files, registry entries etc that need to be checked and potentially deleted to actually "clean" the machine of any evidence that Quickbooks was ever on it?

That may be a rhetorical question b/c I am certain the information is known to Quickbooks and its programmers.

Here is a thread that reinforces that QB is not doing a completely clean uninstall.

How to COMPLETELY uninstall Quickbooks 2021 (or any edition)?

I spent some time on this issue today since I happen to have installed QB 2021 Desktop on a laptop which had never had QB on it before.  This was done for testing b/c of problems with QB2021 Desktop and error messages when attempting to generate payroll reports using QB provided Excel templates.

After using Windows to "uninstall" Quickbooks, I noted that at least one QB service was still install.  I noted on a search of the registry that many entries still existed when I performed a search for either "Intuit" or "Quickbooks".   I also noted by doing a search on the hardrive that about a half dozen or so various directories still existed which had QB or Intuit directory names.

So, no it is not a "clean" uninstall.  Quickbooks leaves more crap on your system than is left after on the sidewalks after a parade.  There certainly must be a utility that fully removes all of this and, if there is not, there is no excuse for such absence.
