I'm here to help with your question about the Transaction Center in QuickBooks Desktop. There isn't a location in QuickBooks Desktop 2020 called Transaction Center at this time, but it might have been renamed since the 2009 release. I'd like to gain a little insight as to what information was available in the Transaction Center in QuickBooks Desktop 2009 so that I can let you know the equivalent in 2020.
In the meantime, you can check out our QuickBooks Desktop Upgrade Guide to ensure a smooth transition between your two products.
Please know I'm always available here to lend a helping hand. I look forward to hearing from you again!
Hi @shansi,
Just checking.... Are you really updating from QB2009? Or are you really updating from QB2019?
If you really do have an old version of 2009, I believe you'll need to update your company file through various intermediate versions of QBs. Your best bet is to actually call into support and find out which versions of QBs you'll need to download and upgrade to. But my guess is it will be every 3 years, maybe every 4 yrs. (QB2009 --> QB2012 --> QB2015 --> QB2018 --> QB2020) Maybe you'll be lucky and they included a generic upgrade in 2020 from all older versions.
Be sure to make Backups of every single upgrade that you do as you go through the process!
I am not sure you will be able to convert it directly from 2009 to 2020. Call and ask Intuit Data Service to convert it. Should you need to resolve it in due course, consider purchasing a 3rd party conversion service.
