Is anyone else having an issue connecting Small Business Bank (www.smallbusinessbank.com). I keep getting an error 101.

I know that they have recently upgraded their system so I'm guessing this has something to do with it.

There are a few reasons why you’re getting error 101 when trying to connect your account. One can be that you don't have transactions in the past 12 months. It can also be that you're unable to accept the terms and agreements from your online banking website. 

 

To verify these reasons, you can visit your bank's website and see if you can log in without any errors. Also, check for messages that need your confirmation such as terms and conditions. Just acknowledge the prompt, then go back to your QuickBooks Self-Employed account to refresh your account. Try connecting your account again.

 

If you can log in to your bank's website without a problem, and all the prompts are acknowledged, a browser-related issue might have caused the error. To start, open your QuickBooks Online account in a private browser or incognito. This mode prevents your browsing history from being stored. You can use the keyboard shortcuts below: 

 

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Option P

Try connecting your bank from this window. If you can connect without the error, let's go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. Finally, restart your browser to refresh the settings. On the other hand, try using a different supported browser if the same thing happens.

Another option, utilize the trial version of SlickConnect to isolate the issue. It is designed to import into any bank or credit card in QuickBooks Online, so there is no specific setting needed. If the same error persists, there is an ongoing problem at your bank.

Thanks for the suggestions.  Unfortunately they didn't help.  I can log into my account online just fine.  I tried the connection in several different browsers w/private windows and even a different PC but the issue persisted. My bank recently upgraded their system so I'm betting this has something to do with it.  What's strange though is that authentication seems to be going through after I enter my user name/password since I have 2FA turned on and it's prompting me for the code that's sent to me via text message.  After I enter the code is when the error is triggered in Quickbooks.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I did download and install SlickConnect but did not find any option to connect to my bank.  It seemed to only accept standalone PDF files for import.

I’m having the same problems … I really need this working or I’ll have to switch services… I’ve contacted support both on QuickBooks and with small business bank but no one gets back to me … is there a solution yet ?
