Yes, only1. I'm here to ensure you can update your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) mobile app. I'll share the possible causes and the troubleshooting steps to rectify this.

An unsupported Operating System (OS) and too much app data are the two most common reasons for this error message. I've got the steps to resolve the problem. I'll provide them below.

First, make sure your phone's OS is supported. If you have Apple products, use the 11.1 or newer. For Android devices, have a 7.1.1 or newer.

If the OS is compatible, I suggest clearing the app's cache to improve the program's performance. Excessive cache can cause an unusual response to the system. I'll show you how:

Android:

  1. From your device's Settings, select Apps (varies by device).
  2. Choose the QuickBooks app from the list.
  3. Select Storage
  4. Tap Clear cache.

iOS:

  1. From your device's Settings, select Setting General iPhone Storage.
  2. Choose an app that's taking up a lot of space.
  3. Clear the cache to free up the storage without deleting the documents and data for the app.

If the issue persists, I recommend uninstalling the software. Then, reinstall it to refresh the system.

However, please note that after March 24, 2024, the QBSE mobile app will be delisted (which means it's now unavailable in the Google Play or Apple App stores). If you downloaded the app before the mentioned date, you can still use the app and receive product support and updates.

To reinstall the app, I recommend checking your download account history. Beforehand, use the same account you used previously to download the app. You can browse the article depending on the device you're using:

Aside from that, you can also continue to utilize the product by accessing it through the web and mobile web versions, which have the same features as the mobile app.

Furthermore, QuickBooks offers a new product built for self-employed businesses with basic accounting features like invoicing, banking, mileage, etc. To learn more about its features, please check this article: Introduction to QuickBooks Solopreneur.

If you want to know more about accessing your QuickBooks app or need help working on your books using a mobile device, please leave a reply below. I'd be glad to provide a prompt response.
