Looking for assistance. We manage the IT for an accountant. One of his clients has sent him data from quickbooks V12. Our client has a licence for v19 and v20 (as listed in our database for the info we have for them). Looking for the installers it seems to go by year. Has someone listed this wrong or do 19 and 20 match a year?
Also, will v12 even be able to be recovered on 19 and 20?

You should ask your accountant first. Does the client still prefer to use QB Desktop 2012 or upgrade to a newer version? If the client chooses to keep his or her QB Desktop 2012, your accountant can use the trial version of QB Desktop 2012 Pro to support the client. You cannot use QB Desktop 2019 or 2020 to support this client. Once you open a file on a newer version, your client will not be able to open the file from your end.
Hello there, @Lugo. Let me share some information regarding installing old data in QuickBooks Desktop.
Installing data between clients in QBDT involves several steps and considerations to ensure a successful transfer. You'll need to ensure that your and your client's QBDT versions are the same for a seamless transfer and experience.
If they're using different versions, it's possible that only your client, the accountant, can successfully open the data since they're using the updated version of the program.
If their client decides to retain their version, your client can work with the trial version of QB Desktop 2012 Pro to assist them. It is important to note that the QB Desktop 2019 or 2020 will not support older versions. Once their client will open a file in a newer version, they will no longer be able to access the file from their end.
For reference, you can visit this article: How to use the Accountant's Copy.
Nonetheless, recovering the data is still possible, but since their client is using the old version of QBDT, they wouldn't be able to open the file if transferred. You can follow the steps below to restore the data.
For more detailed steps on performing this, you can check this article: Update your company files to a new version of QuickBooks Desktop.
Also, you can check this article on restoring a company file using a backup: Restore a backup of your company file.
The comment section is always open if you have further questions about recovering data in QBDT. We're always glad to help you anytime.

Thank you. My client says she just needs to read the data and nothing needs sent back. So the trial might be good for now.

The versions here. Would v19 be 2019? and v20 be 2020?
Thank you.

The versions here. Would v19 be 2019? and v20 be 2020? We've inherited old information from a previous IT provider and that's how they have the licence keys titled.
Ask your client to open their company file on QB and hit CTRL+1 keys. Make sure they are using QB Desktop 2012 US Pro or Premier. Then you can download the installer file of QB Desktop 2012 US Pro.
Contact me in private and we can share the trial code for QB Desktop 2012 US Pro.
