I have server manager version 22 (sharing the companies files) and 10 computers with QB enterprise 22 on them, i need to upgrade to 24, what's the best approach
If i install 24 on computers 1 by 1, will they work fine until i finish all of them and then upgrade the server manager?
is version 24 backward compatible with 22?
You can install QBD 2024 without removing QBD 2022 and run them at the same time to find any issues before upgrading your company files.
Hi there, @kaissi79. I'm happy to share more information about updating your QuickBooks Desktop version to 2024.
When updating your version from 2022 to 2024 in QBDT, I recommend updating them all together as they are not backward compatible with 2022. If you update your computers one by one, the 2022 version will be unable to access the company file. I also encourage reading this article know more about company file compatibility: Company file compatibility with QuickBooks Desktop. The tips listed in the article will help you avoid issues and errors when you upgrading the program.
Yes, we need to update the QuickBooks Data Server Manager so that all computers can open the company file later. Also, the 2022 version still belongs to the system requirement by QBDT. I assure you that you can still use the 2022 version.
