QB2021 Crashes When Recording a Journal Entry

Hi there,

I know you've spent a lot of time on this already, and please bear with us. I also understand how important it is to use an accountant’s copy while working in QuickBooks.

As much as I'd like to help you in getting this thing done right away, we'll need to reach out to our customer care team. They can pull up your account and have a screen-sharing session with you. This way, we can find the root cause of this issue.

Here’s how:

  1. Within your QuickBooks Company file, select QuickBooks Desktop Help from the Help menu.
  2. You can also press F1 on your keyboard to bring up the same Help panel.
  3. Give a brief description of your issue.
  4. Click Continue.

Please know that we’re available from Monday to Friday, at 6 AM to 6 PM if you’re using the Pro, Premier, and Plus versions. However, you can reach out to us any time any day if you’re using the Enterprise. You can browse this reference to learn more about connecting to us: Contact QuickBooks Desktop support.

Furthermore, you can read about using the Accountant's Copy. It provides detailed information on how to use the feature as well as its limitations.

This reference will also guide you on how to securely send and share an accountant's copies between accountants and clients in QuickBooks Desktop: Learn about the Accountant's File Transfer Service. From there, you’ll see the benefits of using the tool.

Drop a comment below if you have additional questions about utilizing an accountant copy. I’ll get back to answer them for you. Stay safe.

QB2021 Crashes When Recording a Journal Entry

I'm happy to report that Austin's suggestion of installing the newer version of QB 2023, and updating all of my prior versions before I opened my 2023 QB was the solution; for me anyway. I ended up installing 2023, then opening the QB 2022 and installing all the updates, 2021 installing the updates, and then 2020, and that seemed to do the trick.

I've since logged back into my accountants copy I was working out of and it seems have done the trick, at least in the 2020 QB accountants copy I'm working out of.

Thanks.

QB2021 Crashes When Recording a Journal Entry

Total waste of time, JamaicaA. Intuit already has every version of QuickBooks they have ever released and can do this simple test and repeat the problem themselves, if they cared. They've had months and multiple people reporting it to fix it on their own without wasting our time showing it all over again to support people who have not been informed about it and don't yet know the solution, in spite of being shared here several times.
