So, I thought Intuit was not supporting this software anymore. Lo and behold, it tells me there is an update available which occurred automatically after I closed the app. It went from version 4.4.0-83 to 5.1.0-95. Trouble is it now crashes everytime I open it. (I am running High Sierra) fortunately, I have a back up copy and was able to reinstall the previous version which works fine.
Is there anyway to prevent the update?
WTF Intuit?
Hi, E30. Thanks for reaching out to the Community.
Yes, you're right. The QuickBooks Online Windows and Mac desktop applications are no longer supported. Due to limited use, we discontinue live support and software updates.
You can get more details about this in this article: QuickBooks Online Mac and Windows Desktop App update.
For now, let's reset the QuickBooks application to refresh the program. Please keep in mind that this process may or may not work. Here's how to reset the app:
However, if you're still unable to use the app, we recommend accessing QuickBooks Online through your preferred browser by signing in to your QuickBooks account.
On the other hand, you can turn off the auto-update feature on your settings to prevent updating the QuickBooks Online Desktop for the Mac application.
Additionally, I recommend visiting this link: Account Management. These will provide links about managing your QuickBooks Online account, income, expenses, inventory, and running reports.
OK, quit with the canned responses please.
The update occurred over a month AFTER you declared you were no longer supporting the App. So why did y'all update it? It worked fine before that.
Thanks
What was the date of the update? It may have been an old update that you never activated.
I have the EXACT same experience. Did you ever get this resolved?
