I'll ensure you can continue to use the QuickBooks Online Advance desktop app without issues. This way, you can finish your tasks as soon as possible.
QuickBooks Online Advance and Accountant is up and running. Only the Simple Start, Essentials, and Plus versions of QuickBooks Online have been discontinued from the desktop app.
You'll need a Windows 64-bit computer, and you need to be a QuickBooks Online subscriber or an accountant with a QuickBooks Online Accountant. Once confirmed and the issue persists, I suggest resetting the app's data if you can see the app toolbar. This way, we can fix this unexpected behavior.
Here's how:
- Go to the Help menu on the toolbar.
- Select Reset App Data.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
If the issue remains, you can uninstall the app to clean a slate:
- Drag the QuickBooks app from the Applications folder to the Trash icon.
- Go to Finder.
- Choose Empty Trash.
After that, here's how to reinstall:
- Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account through the browser.
- Go to the Gear icon and select Get the desktop app.
- Click Download for Windows or Mac (if you're using Apple).
- A shortcut to the app gets installed on your desktop (depending on your settings).
- Enter your user ID and password on the sign-in screen and hit Sign in.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
