Latest version of the QuickBooks Mac subscription has been updated to support Tahoe. Apply the latest update and you should be good. Note that earlier versions of the subscription can be updated to the latest for free.
Quickbooks Mac Plus 2024 V23.1.9 R10.1 to be "Compatible" with Mac Tahoe 26 ... noted a QWB Tech "... still, in the "testing phase" - in order to be compatible with MAC Tahoe 26 OS." The MAC Tahoe 26 OS was just released Sept 15, 2025.
Historically, from QWB Pro 1 to Quickbooks Mac Plus 2024 V23.1.9 R10.1 — any update from QWB — to be compliant w/ MAC Desktop OS — has taken approximately (45)-days after a MAC OS Release. Hence, the QWB Tech had cited: "... if there is not an urgent need to update MAC Desktop to MAC Tahoe 26 OS ... wait a bit longer, so "all" testing is completed for the newest QWB Version. The Tech Added: "... Users have cited "issues" using Quickbooks Mac Plus 2024 V23.1.9 R10.1 right now."
I have Quickbooks Desktop 2021 for Mac and I just updated to Tahoe and I can report that 2021 opened and works without any issues.
I have noticed that my 2024 QuickbooksDesktop for Mac has started lagging under Tahoe 26.1.
I get the continual spinning carousel wheel on virtually every click. It goes after a few seconds delay. And then comes back on the next click. Even when clicking the menu without a file open. It's just started happening and hasn't happened before.
Thank you,
John Cooper

FIXED by "Force Quitting" Quickbooks and restarting.

Me too. Did you get an answer?
Which outstanding question?
Hello there, @CapnDave. We appreciate you bringing this to the Community.
Lags can happen right after a major macOS release, and performance typically improves as Apple and app updates roll out.
QuickBooks Mac Plus 2024 supports at least macOS 12 Monterey and newer. If your Mac is on macOS 12 Monterey or later (including Tahoe 26), it meets the OS requirement and is supported. For the complete list of requirements, please see this article: System requirements for QuickBooks Desktop 2024.
To help improve performance, I recommend updating to the latest QuickBooks Mac Plus release. This ensures you have the most recent optimizations and compatibility fixes for newer macOS versions.
If performance is still affected or lagging after updating, it may be due to the following reasons:
Considering these likely causes, it's best to reach out to an IT expert or Apple Support to diagnose the issue and get it resolved quickly.
If you have further questions or concerns, feel free to reach out. We're here to help.
I get the spinning ball every time I try to add time/expenses to an invoice. It goes on over 10 minutes. If I force quit or restart the computer, it repeats the same spinning ball.
I have updated my Desktop 2024 version fully and just added Tahoe. All other operations are working fine with no lag or spinning ball. The spinning ball would occur before Tahoe when adding time/expenses, but it would resolve within minutes.
I have plenty of RAM and memory per my IT consultant. I don't have any other applications running. Not using the internet. 4 year old iMac so not outdated equipment.
