Join nowBeing required to have an internet connection to load a desktop version of the program defeats the purpose of having a desktop program. How am I supposed to work on the program when I have no connection such as when traveling or in an area where there is no internet connection? What happens when the internet goes down - I am just supposed to stop working? The program will not even load if you do not sign in on the login screen.
Hello, cridge.
We always want to catch up with our workload whenever possible while we're out. I have some clarification regarding QuickBooks Mac's internet requirements.
An internet connection is one of the requirements when using QuickBooks Mac. The program needs this to ensure it gets the latest compatibility updates when running it on the Mac system. When the internet goes down, you'll want to wait until it goes back up and running again.

If have a laptop that runs Windows, you can grab a copy of QuickBooks Desktop instead. Unlike the Mac version, it can run without an internet connection. However, online services such as payroll and the bank feeds will become unavailable until you're connected again. Seems like a pretty big limitation to the MAC version of QB to be required to have an internet connection to load the program for the desktop version. You seem to meet all of your needs with the windows version without doing this - but yet require it in the MAC version. Not sure why you want to limit your customers use of the product.
