Quickbooks Tool Hub Not Downloading

We run Quickbooks Accountant Desktop Plus 2024, the file is saved on a server and there are two users that access the file. The first user is on a tower and experiencing no problems. The second user just upgraded to a laptop and is having issues with the software. It has been advised to download the quickbooks tool hub, but when it is downloaded to the new laptop, it will not install. The new laptop is running Windows 11. We need a resolution as to why this tool hub will not download.

Quickbooks Tool Hub Not Downloading

There are several possible reasons why QuickBooks Tool Hub isn't being installed successfully. Allow me to provide you with some information and help you sort this out, kwells2802.

Before we proceed, is the user getting any error messages during the installation process? If the user is seeing the "QuickbooksToolHub.exe has been blocked because it can harm your device" message, advise to download QuickBooks Tool Hub in a different web browser.

On the other hand, if you see an error like "Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting. Running the app might put your PC at risk"  click the More info link, and then select Run anyway. This should allow you to proceed with the installation. I've added these screenshots for visual reference:

However, if the user is not getting any prompts or errors at all, it's possible the installation file might be corrupted. It will be a good idea to let the user download the Tool Hub again from the official Intuit website to ensure they are working with a clean file.

Secondly, the User Account Control (UAC) setting may be preventing the installation. Let the user run the installer as an administrator. Just right-click the downloaded file and select "Run as administrator."

Lastly, ensure that antivirus software or firewall settings aren't blocking the installation process. Temporarily disable the antivirus software and firewall and check if QuickBooks Tool Hub can be installed again. Remember to re-enable them once the installation is complete.
