Best practice for QB files and backup

I am the new IT person for a local business. I am helping to install new PCs and get things running smoothly. When I installed QB enterprise 2024 I went to the folder where they had the working QB file and found over 400 files ending in .qbw , .TLN, .ND, .DSN, .QBB

They were all in the same folder going back to 2016

I would like to know the best thing to do with them and if I can get rid of any?

Best practice for QB files and backup

qbw = quickbooks working file

qbb = quickbooks backup file

The rest are support files for qbw.

You can manage multiple qbb files but having more than 1 qbw for each company file is not common.

Best practice for QB files and backup

Hello there, SpuddedMuffin.

I agree with 4Gal that you can manage multiple .qbb files, but having more than 1 .qbw file for each company is uncommon. You can visit this article for more details:  File types and extensions used by QuickBooks Desktop.

In addition, you can check out this article to learn how to customize data and personalize the font and style of the report: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.
