Join nowI have been using QB for the 20 years that I have run my business. Recently (3 years ago) my renewal fee was $500. Today it is $700. I have stopped using INTUIT for payroll processing as a result of paperwork error in my 941 filing, horrible, horrible customer service, negligence, incompetence, and apathetic attitude. The error was not resolved and it is now 10 months.
Does anyone know any downside to downloading the program from a known source? I have seen cost from $190 to $399 with license subscription. Intuit will take $700 from my account in a few days.
Any info will help
You are using QB Desktop 2023 Pro Plus for single user, correct?

Hello there, Snoopy58.
I understand your frustration with the fee increase for QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) and your negative experience with Intuit's customer service.
The increase in the renewal fee for QuickBooks 2024 to $700 is due to various factors, such as inflation and additional features or services included in the new version.
Also, we haven't heard of any downsides to downloading QuickBooks Desktop from a reputable source or Intuit partners.
