Hi. I am trying to convert my QB Desktop Pro 2020 to QB Online and its been a nightmare. 5 days ago I called tech support and spent hours on the phone and then they said they would call me back. Never did. Called again today and was told it could be up to 10 days to get back to me! For real? this is how they do business with customers who convert to online?
I have gone through all the troubleshooting steps and I see other have had similar issue. I am below 100,000 targets so that looks clean and there are no file errors.
Thanks.
Hi there, Salondude.
Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community and I appreciate you for performing some troubleshooting steps to fix the issue. This isn't the kind of experience that I'd like you to have and we know how much time it can take when something isn’t working about converting a file. That said, I'll ensure you'll be routed to the right support team to assist you with any converting matter.
The issue of converting or transferring a file from QBDT to QBO has been reported as an ongoing issue. Our product engineers are now working to fix this as soon as possible.
For now, you can only export lists and balances. Then, make sure that your multi-currency is turned off when converting a file. You can open this article and start following steps four and five: Export and convert your QuickBooks Online data to QuickBooks Desktop.
Additionally, I recommend contacting again our QuickBooks Support Team and ensuring that they added you to our notification list. This will help our engineers determine the number of affected users. You'll also receive an update through email once this has been resolved.
Lastly, I'm also adding this article to further guide you in effectively managing your business using QBO: Help guide for QuickBooks Online. It contains topics about advanced accounting, banking, and payments to name a few.
Let me know if there's anything else you need help with moving a file from one account to another. I'm always here to help you anytime. Take care and keep safe!

Yes, this is how they do it. When actually using QB Online, you'll probably find that, when compared to using Desktop, the nightmare has just begun. Good luck!
