Fixed Asset Manager update for 2023 bonus depreciation

I was working in fixed asset manager this morning and noticed there has not been an update for the 2023 bonus depreciation rate of 80%. Will there be an update issued to get this fixed and when?

Fixed Asset Manager update for 2023 bonus depreciation

Thanks for reaching out here today, Brian246. I've got information to share to help ensure Fixed Asset Manager (FAM) for 2023 bonus depreciation rates are updated.

As of the moment, we haven't received issued updates yet with the latest FAM 2023 bonus depreciation rates. You'll want to ensure your QuickBooks Desktop is up-to-date so you'll always have its latest features and other data fixes on your file.

For now, you can manually review QBDT and FAM synchronizations to allow information to link with your desktop company file. If you've set up asset automatic synchronization, you can refer to these steps:

  1. From the FAM QuickBooks menu, select Asset Synchronization Options.
  2. On the From QuickBooks tab, select Automatically when QuickBooks Fixed Asset Manager opens and Both new and modified fixed asset items.
  3. Select OK and close Fixed Asset Manager to refresh the program.

However, for manual synchronization, here's how:

  1. From the FAM QuickBooks menu, select Asset Synchronization Options.
  2. On the From QuickBooks tab, select Manually by selecting “Update Assets from QuickBooks” in the QuickBooks menu.
  3. Under the To QuickBooks tab, select Manually by selecting “Save Assets to QuickBooks” from the QuickBooks menu.
  4. Select OK and close Fixed Asset Manager to refresh the program and make manual syncing available.
  5. Reopen Fixed Asset Manager.
  6. From the FAM QuickBooks menu, choose Update Assets from QuickBooks or Save Assets to QuickBooks to sync information.

I'm sharing this guide for more detailed information: Set up Fixed Asset Manager (FAM).

Moreover, you can read this reference if you encounter unusual behaviors when using FAM: Fix issues in Fixed Asset Manager (FAM).

If you have additional questions when handling fixed asset managers, you're always welcome to leave a reply in the comments below. Keep safe!
