Hi, there! I am trying to update my accounts and keep getting the message "Something unexpected happened and we can’t connect to name-of-bank-here".

I have tried over the course of several days.  This pertains to more than one credit card account.

Hi, there! I am trying to update my accounts and keep getting the message "Something unexpected happened and we can’t connect to name-of-bank-here".

I appreciate your patience in updating your credit card accounts in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), Sarah. Let's get to the bottom of this together to determine the cause of this matter.
 

Before proceeding, I'd like to ask what specific bank you used with your credit card accounts. Through this, I can look into our end to see if there are ongoing cases between our QBSE software and theirs. This way, I can provide an adequate resolution to this matter.
 

Moreover, log into your bank website and check if there's something that needs to be acknowledged or ongoing maintenance, as these factors affect when updating them in the QBSE software. If there's none, let's move forward and perform troubleshooting steps by logging out of your QBSE account in your current web browser and utilizing a private or incognito browser.  You can use these keyboard shortcuts below:
 

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N

 

From there, re-link your bank account, then update them. If it works, you can return to your regular browser. Know that. you can also employ other QuickBooks-supported browsers if the private or incognito browser doesn't work. In the meantime, you can manually import your transactions to QBSE.
