How do i get my app to track toll roads?

Hello there, dstout-stoutcomp.   

 

We can track mileage with the QuickBooks Self-Employed app and it automatically records your work trips. However, for toll roads, you can enter it manually and track it as an expense.   

 

I'll show you how to turn on mileage auto-tracking within your app:

  1. Make sure you enable location services on your mobile device. Here are the steps for Apple (iPhone and iPad) and Android devices.
  2. Then, open the QuickBooks Self-Employed mobile app.
  3. Select the Mileage menu.
  4. Click the Auto-tracking switch to turn it ON.

In manually recording your toll roads, you can follow these steps depending on your device:  

 

Apple

  1. Select the two Green arrows, then select Transactions.
  2. Tap the Plus (+) sign and select Add Income or Expense.
  3. Enter the transaction details and then tap Save.

Android

  1. Select the Reply All icon, then select Transactions.
  2. Tap the Plus (+) sign and select Add Income or Expense.
  3. Fill out the transaction details, then tap Save.

You can also create a new transaction directly from an image of your receipt.

With QuickBooks Self-Employed, recording tolls are deductible if they're related to business travel. You'll want to consider consulting your accountant when entering these transactions. This way, it will help you record what category is accurate. 

 

Here's how to record them on an Android device:

 

  1. Go to Menu ≡ and select Transactions.
  2. Add and enter all necessary details of the transaction.
  3. Under the Category, choose the accurate category.
  4. Once done, click Save.
