How to fix multi user mode error in QB Desktop Account 2020, we recently upgraded from Premier 2018, the company file seats on a server

Let's work together to get rid of the error message, @Mhebbeler.

Let's start by verifying the hosting settings. Make sure that only the server computer is set to host mode. While the workstations can be in multi-user mode, the server should be the only computer designated for hosting. Check each workstation to ensure the Host Multi-User Access option is off.

  1. Open QuickBooks on any workstations where you see H101, H303, or H505.
  2. Open the File menu and hover over Utilities.
  3. If you see the Host Multi-User Access option, don’t select it. Move on to the next workstation. This one isn’t causing the problem.
  4. If Stop Hosting Multi-User Access is an option, select it.
  5. Repeat these steps on all workstations where you see Error -6175,0.

After you check all of your workstations, move on to your server computer and reset your hosting settings.

  1. Open QuickBooks on your server computer.
  2. Open the File menu and hover over Utilities.
  3. If Host Multi-User Access is an option, select it. Repeat this process and select Stop Hosting Multi-User Access. This resets multi-user mode.
  4. Repeat the process one more time and select Host Multi-User Access.
