Install quickbooks on a laptop

Installing QuickBooks is fast and easy. Make sure to check the minimum system requirements for your version beforehand to avoid any installation issues. See these links:

You've come to the right place to help you with moving your QuickBooks software to another location or computer. 

There are two ways you can do this. Follow the steps I've prepared for you:

Option 1: Migrator Tool.

On the old computer:

1. Go to the File menu.
2. Choose Utilities, then click Move QuickBooks to another computer.
3. Tap on I'm Ready, then create a one-time password.
4. Pick the USB flash drive you will use, then wait until all filed are copied.

On the new computer:

1. Insert the USB flash drive.
2. Wait for the Move QuickBooks tool, or run Move_QuickBooks.bat file from your flash drive.
3. Enter the password you created, then select Let's go.
4. Wait for the process to complete.

Please note that the duration of the migration will depend on the speed of your computer and internet, and the size of your company file. You can get the steps here: Move to or reinstall QuickBooks Desktop in another computer

Option 2: Install QuickBooks manually.

To download the program on your new computer, follow the steps below:

1. Go to the Downloads & Updates page to get the download link.
2. Enter your Country, Product and Version.
3. Click the Search button.
4. Select the Download button.

Next, you can proceed with installing the program. You can get the complete process in this article: Install QuickBooks Desktop.

Once installed, you can now restore the back up copy of company file from the old location to the new computer. Here's how:

1. Go to the File tab, and go to Open or Restore Company.
2. Select Restore a backup copy, then Next.
3. Choose Local Backup, then Next.
4. From the Look In drop-down, browse the location of the backup file.
5. Click the backup file from the folder. The file name should appear as [Company Name].qbb.
6. Hit Open, then Next.
7. From the Save in drop-down, locate the location where you want to save the restored file.
8. In the File name field, type a new file name then Save.

thank you for guidance. I have problem to install the quickbooks enterprise solutions 17.0. I have already license key and i have buy new laptop. when I run the setup the a message display for subscription. I have buy already and i put the same key why it's asking for subscription?

Subscription errors while installing QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) happen when there's an issue with a Windows user or third-party apps as they could block processes you need to run QuickBooks. An additional factor is a problem with the installation of the .NET Framework.

To isolate the issue, start by resetting the Internet Explorer settings. Here's how:

1. Open Internet Explorer. 
2. Go to the Tools menu, then choose Internet Options. Press Alt on your keyboard if the menu bar doesn't show. 
3. From the Advanced tab, choose Reset or Restore Defaults. 
4. Tap Apply, and then OK.

Once done, run the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic tool from the Tool Hub to fix common errors.

1. Close QuickBooks. 
2. Download the most recent version (1.5.0.0) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it (like your Downloads folder or your Windows desktop). 
3. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe). Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions. 
4. Double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.

From the Tools Hub, run the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic tool.

1. In the QuickBooks Tools Hub, select Installation Issues.
2. Select QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool.
3. Hit OK when the Diagnostic Tool completes.
4. Start or install QuickBooks Desktop and open your data file.

If you still see an error message, disable the firewall and/or antivirus software, then try installing QuickBooks again.

Afaik, they are not allowed us to reinstall any outdated QBD Enterprise (i.e QBD 2019 or older) and activate it. Consider upgrading to the latest version or cross-grade to QBD Pro/Premier if needed.

I purchased QuickBooks Pro Plus 2022 in August and downloaded on my device.  It is my understanding that I'm able to install it on a second device (laptop), but now that I'm ready to do that, I'm not sure how.  Could someone please confirm/help?

1. Open the file QuickBooks.exe.

I’ve installed Quickbook Pro 2023 but can’t find instructions to transfer my files from Quick Books 2020. So I can use the program 

I've got you the steps to move your company file after you switch to a newer version, Hyoung.

To begin, let's prepare your company file. 

1. Open your original version of QuickBooks. Then open the company file you want to move.
2. Press F2 to open the Product Information window.
3. Look in the File Information section. Note where you save your company file on your computer.

Important: If you keep your company files on a server, Move your company files to your computer's local hard drive. You can also transfer them back after they open in the new version of QuickBooks Desktop.
