I have numerous times. They all try to upsell me because the program is broken and it still is.

I'm here to share with you the additional troubleshooting steps to isolate the issue in no time, tbotzon.

 

Keep in mind that not all printers are the same, some of the troubleshooting steps below require knowledge of your particular printer's setup. 

 

Before we proceed with the troubleshooting, please take note of the following info: 

Now, let's locate the QBPrint.qbp to manually rename the file. It's usually saved in these folders:

  • Windows 10, 8.1, and 8: C:\ProgramData\Intuit\QuickBooks 20xx

          (20xx represents the version of your QuickBooks.)

  • Server 2008 and Server 2012: C:\Program Data\Intuit\QuickBooks YEAR and C:\Users\**remote user**\AppData\Roaming\Intuit\ YEAR VERSION\TSPrinterSettings

Then, follow these steps to proceed: 

  1. Right-click the QBprint.qbp file for your QuickBooks version and click Rename.
  2. Add the word "old" to the file name (i.e. QBPrint.qbp.old)
  3. Open QuickBooks once again.
  4. Go to the File menu and choose Printer Setup.
  5. Select any transaction in the Form Name list and select OK. This will create a new QBprint.qbp file.
  6. Note: You don't have to do this for every transaction.
  7. Go back to the Check and print it to test if it's working correctly.

If the issue persists, you can use the Print & PDF Repair Tool from the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Once done, print the check again

I have no idea what you are talking about. I do not have printer issues. I have QB 2022 massive file issues and if we turn it off we will not be able to get back on because of the error message problem. They have tried rebuilding the file twice and it is STILL BROKEN! I just want my money back and to go back to my old program.

I have also been getting this error message with the same software purchased 3-28-2022.  Never had any problems with QB 2019.  I am constantly being forced to uninstall and reinstall my company file to use the software.  Every time I enter data I have to write a company backup so I don't lose it.  I have spent at least 4 hours on the phone myself with tech support- horribly unhelpful person on the phone had no idea what they were doing and couldn't get me anyone to help.  I have sent in numerous notes to QB over this and never had a response.  I have had 2 accountants working on this with QB tech support only to have the call dropped and not get a call back.  The worst part of all is that I am unable to pay my employees correctly (wont calculate taxes) and on time because of these QB system errors.  Very, very, very frustrated and disappointed with this version, the support, and this company.

Consider to install the trial version for QBD 2021 as another option. If it works, you can still purchase a new one time license for QBD 2021 and cancel your QBD 2022 subscription before May 28, 2022.

You can still use the latest backup versions of your files before upgrading to QBD 2022.

Thank you.  As the consumer I don't feel that it is my responsibility to fix the product.  I am looking for tech support that is doing more than copying and pasting from the help menu.  I received 2 calls from tech support requests today, they wanted to go through the same things over again, I refused to waste more time and was eventually given the tier 2 call number, only to have that number automatically tell me to use the F1 key to be contacted.  I still have not received a case number.  There is clearly a problem with the payroll processing system or the way it was setup.  I had to calculate the employee taxes manually and hopefully it wont crash the next time I turn the program on.  My accountant encountered the same issue on their home computer, verifying that it wasn't an issue with Windows 11.  Quickbooks destop pro plus 2022 doesn't seem to be viable to me and their support is non existent to date.

If you haven't added any or only some of the new transactions in the upgraded file, you can still use the latest backup version and open it in QBD 2021.

Ran payroll yesterday as mentioned before.  Afterwards, QB automatically downloads tax updates and then asks for the program to be restarted to complete installing the updates.  When QB is restarted it will show the attached unrecoverable error message #1407213699 23393 and then crashes.  At this point the only option is to uninstall the software, reinstall from the last company file backup.  The next time I need to run payroll I will have the same tax update problem.  QB please fix this issue with Desktop Pro Plus 2022!  Do not respond with cut and paste instructions from help menu here.  Have a properly trained and qualified tech support person contact me by email and phone.

Yes! Give me my money back or get someone to fix this without having to pay an extra $800. to expedite the process. BS in my opinion to buy a product that is inferior and get told I need to pay extra money to get it fixed to do payroll.

*BUSINESSES BE WARNED*

It took several posts on this forum to get a Senior Specialist tech to contact me and get a case number.  This person has been good to work with but it has taken another 4-5 hours out of 2 days, completely halting productivity.  This has cost me well over a thousand dollars in down time, accounting fees, and independent tech support fees.  QB now has my company file (and access password) at it's data center to find the corruption in the code.  Hopefully, they can find and fix the problem, BUT THEY WANT 7 WORKING DAYS to get to my case!  Saying that anything I enter in QB during this time will need to be redone in a week if they succeed infixing the issue.  QB is essentially hamstringing my companies ability to produce and conduct business, offering no compensation for the disruption (ongoing since March when I was upgraded due to discontinued service of 2019) with only an apology for the inconvenience.  I RECOMEND FINDING OTHER ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE!

Data services has had my company file for 8 days now and still has not assigned personnel to the file.  They are now saying that it could take up to another 8 days just to assign someone to the case.  I cannot pay payroll and my Federal 941 deposit is due to be paid today but I cannot pay that either.  QB is refusing to call me about this through the online chat with the Data center.  This is such a mess.  Terrible product service!

Do they want you to spend more money on their apps? This is ridiculous! They need to fix this defective software and stop trying to upsell.

I have also had this happen with 2 separate clients who upgraded to 2022.  The first time you use it, everything works fine.  The second time you go to login you get an unrecoverable error no amount of QB file doctoring or anything will let you open that file.  Thank goodness you should have a backup for when you upgraded, but in both cases an entire day's worth of work was lost.  

My suggestion to anyone who buys QB 2022 is to be sure to make another backup immediately after you use it for the first time.  If not, you will lose all your work until they figure out a patch for this.

I believe that phone number you listed belongs to a cloud hosting company, not Quickbooks
