Quickbooks desktop "Incorrect product code"

On a new PC I am installing quickbooks desktop pro plus 2023 which i downloaded straight from my intuit account products page.  On the same page is my license number and product number.

during installation I am told "Incorrect product code"

I literally copied them straight over (yes I checked for extra spaces etc) from the same page and used the "download" link right next to those numbers.

my product code is [removed]

Quickbooks desktop "Incorrect product code"

I appreciate you for reaching out here in the Community, @AWarehouse.I'd be glad to help you access your QuickBooks Tool Hub.

There are several possible reasons why you received an error message during installation.

  • Your product number doesn't match what's on screen.
  • You have entered incorrect license/ product numbers.
  • You cannot use Online Banking because QuickBooks is not registered.
  • You must subscribe to the accountant's file transfer service.
  • The validation code is incorrect or This service is temporarily unavailable.
  • You see a blank screen when you try to activate.
  • Validation code screen not appearing.

The good thing is that we have solutions to help you resolve this issue. This way, you can move on to use your QuickBooks Desktop program without getting any prompts.

In QBDT, we have this tool called QuickBooks Tool Hub. You can run this to fix common errors or freezing on your program. To use it, you'll need to download and install it on your computer. Here's how:

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. We recommend you download the most recent version (1.4.0.0) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it (like your Downloads folder or your Windows desktop). Note: If you've already installed Tool Hub before, you can find out which version you have. Select the Home tab. The version will be displayed on the bottom right, or you can select About to view the version.
  3. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  5. When the installation finishes, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.

If you can't find the icon, do a search in Windows for QuickBooks Tool Hub and then select the program. Once done, you'll want to run the Quick Fix my program from the Tool Hub. Here's how:

  1. In the QuickBooks Tool Hub, select Program Problems.
  2. Select Quick Fix my Program.
  3. Start QuickBooks Desktop and open your data file.
