QUICKBOOKS PRO 2020 WONT OPEN EVEN AFTER RELOAD AND ALL RECOMMENDED TESTS...SAYS OPENING THEN GOES AWAY

I cant open quickbooks 2020 pro desktop version (no problems with it last few years).....starts by saying opening then goes away...windows up to date...windows 10 ....any thoughts?

Disconnect your internet connection. They try running your QB Desktop program again. Did you encounter the same issue?

We can start by suppressing the QuickBooks program. This prevents it from opening any company file automatically. 

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Hold down the Ctrl key and double-click the QuickBooks Desktop icon.
  2. Continue pressing the Ctrl key until you see the No Company Open window, QuickBooks freezes or gives you an error.
  3. Select the company file you're working on and click the Open button. 

If you continue to get the same result, download and install the QuickBooks Tools Hub. This utility can fix common errors you encounter in the program.

 

To launch the tool: 

 

  1. Make sure to close your QuickBooks.
  2. Then, download the latest version of the QuickBooks Tool Hub (1.6.0.5)and click Save File.
  3. Open the QuickBooksToolHub.exe link.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.
  5. Next, double-click the icon on your desktop to access the tool.

No luck....same as before....says opening for about 3 seconds then goes away...thank You for your help

Tried all that, same ....still starts to open then goes away....

Login to your CAMPS. Can you find your license code there?

Try to reinstall your QB.

I did reinstall the software from the download on my intuit account...still no change. Thank You

Consider to install the trial version of QBD 2021 Pro to isolate the problem. If the same error persists, the problem is on your machine.

QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Pro 2020 will be discontinued in QuickBooks on May 31st, 2023. There may be a software issue since the update is no longer available on this version.

 

 I would recommend consulting with your IT department about the issue if you still can't open with your QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2020. If the same issue persists, I suggest upgrading your QuickBooks Desktop version. Otherwise, you'll want to move your QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online and experience a more flexible, secure, and up-to-date platform for your books.

Try opening the company working file (.QBW) from its saved location.  That works for me when QB randomly does that.
