Join nowI have QBooks Desktop 2020 and want to upgrade to current version and DO NOT want my accounting info online. Please tell me how to do this and if possible? If not, I will start looking for other accounting software. Thanks.
Upgrading your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) software is easy, @LCR3. I'm here to guide you on how.
To start upgrading, ensure that you already purchased your new QBDT version. If you haven't yet, you can reach out to our Sales Support team to get one. Once ready, refer to the following steps:
For reference, check this article: Upgrade QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus, Premier Plus, or Enterprise.
I also added this resource that you can read to ensure you meet the minimum requirements to use upgraded QBDT: System requirements for QuickBooks Desktop 2024.
This process won't put your accounting info online unless you use the online backup (Intuit Data Protect). That said, you still have to upgrade your company file so you can use it on your newer QBDT version.
Just in case you want to start a company file from your existing one, use this reference as a guide: Start a new company file with data from your existing file.
Should you need additional help in managing your QuickBooks program, please don't hesitate to leave a reply below. I'm just around the Community to help. Have a good one.
You have QB Desktop 2020 with a non subscription license, correct? Why do you need to upgrade?
You can purchase QB Desktop 2024 Pro Plus/Premier Plus/Mac Plus to upgrade your version. Call their Sales team directly or you can purchase it thru selected partners. You can get $100 cashback.
