Restore backup not working backup good

Hello there, @aacccars-gmail-c.

May I ask what specific data are you trying to restore or any error message that you'd encounter? This way, I can provide you an accurate resolution to resolve this.

If it's from QuickBooks Online, you can use the Export tool to manually save the backup file, here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then under Tools, choose Export Data.
  2. Click It's a backup, then click Continue.
  3. Select the Reports and Lists you want to export.
  4. Click Export to Excel.

You can check this link for more details: Export reports, lists, and more.

For QuickBooks Desktop, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the File menu and choose Switch to Single-user Mode
  2. Click the File menu again and select Back up Company. Then choose Create Local Backup
  3. Choose the Local Backup, and click Option then select Browse where you want to save your backup file.
  4. Set the number of backups you want to keep. This is optional.
  5. Click OK when ready to save.
  6. Tap Next, then Save it now and Finish.
  7. A pop-up message will appear then click OK.

Once done, you can now restore your company file. To restore the file it has a .qbb extension at the file name.
