Hello there, @aacccars-gmail-c.
May I ask what specific data are you trying to restore or any error message that you'd encounter? This way, I can provide you an accurate resolution to resolve this.
If it's from QuickBooks Online, you can use the Export tool to manually save the backup file, here's how:
- Go to the Gear icon, then under Tools, choose Export Data.
- Click It's a backup, then click Continue.
- Select the Reports and Lists you want to export.
- Click Export to Excel.
You can check this link for more details: Export reports, lists, and more.
For QuickBooks Desktop, you can follow the steps below:
- Go to the File menu and choose Switch to Single-user Mode.
- Click the File menu again and select Back up Company. Then choose Create Local Backup.
- Choose the Local Backup, and click Option then select Browse where you want to save your backup file.
- Set the number of backups you want to keep. This is optional.
- Click OK when ready to save.
- Tap Next, then Save it now and Finish.
- A pop-up message will appear then click OK.
Once done, you can now restore your company file. To restore the file it has a .qbb extension at the file name.
