Buy nowJust recently on two Server 2016 RDS we experience a 10 minute delay opening company files. In the QB log file we see:
"AppShellLaunchPluginCmd.cpp (76) : CHECKPOINT: 8796: Sat Dec 30 09:25:52 AppshellV2: Launch plugin begin execution, pluginId = CEFBrowserPlugin , pluginContext ..."
Next entry in the log is 10 minutes later and then QB Premier 2021 works fine. Not an NTFS issue, nothing we know of has changed on the server (no updates since 12/16), but procmon shows nothing useful to me. Uninstall, reinstall QB - both servers doing same thing. If I rename the C:\Program Files (x86)\Intuit\QuickBooks 2021\CefSharp.BrowserSubprocess.exe file to something else (i.e. so it won't run), QB opens at normal speed. Also it works as a local admin, but these are terminal servers so that's not an option. This has been working for years.
Also if I destroy the users profile disk (again, this is a terminal server) then first couple of logins to QB work again. But after a while (have not determined the "while" but more than an hour, less than a day) it will start freezing up again for 10 minutes when opening a company.
I can see the impact of this 10-minute delay on your QuickBooks experience, @kandeladmin. I’m here to share information so this matter gets resolved.
Since uninstalling and reinstalling QuickBooks doesn't make a change, it would be best to get in touch with our support team for further investigation. Our representatives will assist you in identifying the root cause of the issue and provide additional troubleshooting steps to fix it as soon as possible.

Do you have multi QB Desktop versions on the same server?
Yes, Premier 2021 and Premier 2015.
Just having another version won't be affected as much.
Run the Condense Data utility and remove data prior to 1/1/2023.
Try opening the condensed file. Is there anything different?
Thanks for that suggestion, but we can replicate this with multiple company files - some that are tiny. Even tried one of the sample files. Renaming the CefSharp.BrowserSubprocess.exe program works great, except now one person got an unrecoverable error consistently and the moment I renamed the EXE back, it works.
I used QB to request help, opened a chat with "Jesamay" and had what I thought was a productive chat until they found out I was not the contact - mind you the contact no longer works at the company - and they simply closed chat w/o any notice or asking any more questions. Wonderful customer service. I look forward to the mentioned survey.
Hi there, @kandeladmin.
I understand how you felt after contacting our support about how they handled the situation. Let me help you on how to become the main contact of the company.
You'll need to request to become the primary contact or master admin of the company. Even if the previous primary admin or contact is unavailable to transfer the role to you, it's okay. You can send a request to our account protection team. Here's what to do:
For detailed info on the steps, feel free to read this article: Request to be the primary admin or contact.
You might want to learn how you can create and manage users and roles. You can read this article: Create and manage users and roles in QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise.
If you have additional questions about managing access to your company, never hesitate to reply to this post. I'll be willing to lend a hand. Have a good one.
I had the same problem. After exit of QBW32Pro I noticed the QBW32.exe and CefSharp.BrowserSubprocess.exe(s) were still running in task manager detailed
Setting QBW32.exe to be run in Windows 8 compatablilty mode FIXED the issue.
I had the same problem, only on one machine, spent a lot of time on it.
The Fix
I noticed the QBW32.exe and CefSharp.BrowserSubprocess.exe(s) were still running in task manager detailed view.after QBW32Pro was exited.
Setting QBW32.exe to run in Window 8 compatibility mode FIXED the issue.
I wanted to add a little more detail. Have 4 systems running Desktop Pro 2021. All systems are running at the same update level on Windows 10 22H2. This problem only happened to just one of the systems, the Dell XPS8940. The other Dell machines are, XPS8930, Inspiron 3511 , Latitude 7480. All ran without the 10 minute hangup. The machine which showed the problem worked booted in the safe mode.
I had not thought of using the compatibility options. I've been unable lately to replicate the issue, unclear what has changed. When/if it recurs, we will try this. Thank you.
