Unless the IRS has informed you that you are a 944 annual filer then most likely you are a 941 quarterly filer.
Worst that happens if you submit a 941 when you should wait until year end is they cannot correctly (at the IRS) apply your 941 payments to the 944 and will send you a form letter saying they don't know what to do with your "wrong" payment.
