Access violation Error within the shipping module

When I go to the shipping module to create a UPS shipment, I get a series of popups like the screenshot. They are all access violations with various codes, but that .ocx file name is always the same. Why is this?2022-07-07_09-26-25.jpg

Access violation Error within the shipping module

Hi there, @Maverick2.

Thanks for sharing the specific error you received when using the shipping module to create a UPS shipment.

The issue could be in the folder and/or database damage or permissions. The "Shipping Manager" database needs to be in the shared company files folder. Hence, you must have at least two user license versions of QuickBooks.

However, we can correct this error by restarting both the host computer and the network computer. Then, open QuickBooks on the host computer, and confirm that the shipping manager works. If it does, the database is not damaged. Leave QuickBooks open.

Once done, follow the steps below while using QuickBooks on the host computer:

  1. Select Help and About QuickBooks
  2. In the green window, confirm that "User Licenses" says 2 or greater. Note the license number. Leave QuickBooks open.

Then, go to your network computer, then follow the steps below:

  1. Open QuickBooks, and confirm that the company file works on the host computer (if it works, the "Company Files" folder permissions are ok) leave QuickBooks open.
  2. Select Help and About QuickBooks. In the green window, confirm that the license number matches the license number for the host computer, confirm that "User Licenses" says 2 or greater.

Go back to the host computer, then follow these steps:

  1. Go to the "Shipping Manager Settings, then select Connection Settings.
  2. Connect Via Network" box, confirm that the shipping manager database is located at "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Shipping Manager v4\Database.v4" (or a path other than the default). Take note of the Shipping Manager path.
  3. Confirm that the company file is located at "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Intuit\QuickBooks\Company Files" (or a path other than the default). Take note of the company files path.
  4. Close QuickBooks on both computers.
  5. Open the "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\" folder or the Shipping Manager path noted in step 1. Copy the "Shipping Manager v4" folder. Open the "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Intuit\QuickBooks\Company Files" folder or the company files path noted in step 2. Paste the "Shipping Manager v4" folder into the "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Intuit\QuickBooks\Company Files" folder.
  6. Open QuickBooks. In the "Shipping Manager Settings>>Connection Settings>>Connect Via Network"box, enter the path "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Intuit\QuickBooks\Company Files\Shipping Manager v4\Database.v4\" OK or save back to QuickBooks main screen then close QuickBooks.
  7. On the network computer, open QuickBooks, select "Shipping Manager Settings>>Connection Settings>>Connect Via Network" then enter "\\[host computer name or ip address]\SharedDocs\Intuit\QuickBooks\Company Files\Shipping Manager v4\Database.v4\" in the block. OK or save back to QuickBooks main screen.

Occasionally, you can also delete the UPS accounts in Shipping Manager on the network computer, then repeat steps 6 and 7.

For future reference, you can also avoid all of these by using a QuickBooks Remote Application Server

Let me know how it works. I'll look forward to helping you again.
