accessing my quickbooks QBW data without quickbooks

I was self-employed for several years in the past, ending in 2004.  I saved a QBW file from that time and would like to open the file to view its contents.  However, I no longer have or use Quickbooks.  Is there some way that I can view the file contents?

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Frank

You can try to use the trial version for QB Desktop 2011 to open the file. Contact me in private and we can share the trial code.

It's great having you here in the Community, Frank2023.

I've got steps to help you open your QBW file in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

Yes, Fiat Lux - Asia is correct. You'll need to update your company file and open them using the QBDT 2011 version.

Here's how to restore them:

  1. In QuickBooks, select the File menu, and click Open or Restore Company.
  2. Select Next and open the appropriate folder.
  3. Choose the company file and select Open.
  4. Enter the password, and confirm.
