I'm running Premier, Manufacturing and Wholesale.
Today I tried to open a register and none of the accounts will open. I don't get an error message, it just doesn't open the window.
I can go to the write checks and step through old checks. I've run all of the tools to check for an repair any issues.
I even restored a backup from the other day and that behaves the same so it's something odd with Quickbooks and I'm not sure what or what to do.
I ran through the tools in Quickbooks Tools Hub and that initially didn't fix my issue. I then tried the installation repair tool and that did appear to fix the issue
Yes, many people are suddenly seeing this. It does not appear to have anything to do with your company file. When a user sees this it happens in all their files.
On another thread, customers are posting that running QuickBooks with administrator privileges makes it work again.
To do this, right click the QB icon on your desktop (or start menu) and pick Run as administrator.
I also noticed last night that trying to access the help menu to contact support didn't work. There would be a long pause and then the program would crash. I just tried running as Administrator and accessing the help menu and I get the same crash:
It definitely seems like something major is broken and it's not related to a specific QB version or PC platform so I hope an update is coming very soon as I hesitate to do any work in QB for fear that a crash will corrupt the database.
I finally got things back to normal. Here is what I did! I first did everything they suggested data integrity, all the utility stuff and the file doctor etc-none of that helped) and spent time with them online, etc. Finally, I uninstalled QB, rebooted... Then reinstalled my QB 2020 program; Then I ran the update to get to the most current version of everything. I had it update everything even if I did not have the module including payroll etc. I then opened my company file and Voila everything was back to normal. Frankly, I think something happened yesterday but all of my files are back to normal and I can also run financial statements too. None of it worked anywhere yesterday! Hope this helps the gang! I tried it on different companies too and they all are OK!
