I would like to add a brand new status to the drop down menu for an estimate. Currently there are pending, accepted, closed and rejected. I want to add another
I'm here to share some information about adding a new status for your estimates, @christinesalmon.
Yes, there are currently 4 statuses that you can set for your estimates. These are pending, accepted, closed, and rejected. The feature to add another one is currently unavailable.
That would be a great addition to the current features that we have and our developers might introduce this feature in the future. I'm taking note of this and I also encourage you to send your suggested new status by going to the Gear icon of your account and choosing Feedback.
For now, you can visit the QuickBooks Blog to check for new updates and features that we have.
To know more about estimates and how to convert them into an invoice, refer to the following article: Create and send estimates in QuickBooks Online.
Your willingness to help QuickBooks improve our products and services is greatly appreciated. If there's anything that I can assist with your estimates and or with your account, let me know in the Reply section below. Keep safe and have a good day!
Is there a plan to allow for modifications in the future?
Let me add some information, Christinesalmon.
We're unable to provide when the modification will be allowed. I suggest sending your idea directly to our software engineers. You may want to follow MaryJoyD for the steps.
Rest assured that it will be reviewed by our engineers. The more request the feature has, the more likely it'll be added in future updates.
Also, you can check the blog provided at the top to know our new features and updates.
If there's anything else that you need, don't hesitate to get back to this thread. We'll reply as soon as we can. Take care!
I certainly agree that it would be good to have more options in the estimate status - particularly if trying to use as a sales progressing tool and also whether the estimate is actually being actioned or is still to be started.
I also would like to see a "Cancelled" as one of the options in Estimates.
Thanks for joining and adding your request to this thread, @Cathy2022. I know how useful for your business to also see a "Cancelled" as one of the options in Estimates.
You'll want to share your ideas and feature requests directly with our Development team to help us improve your QuickBooks experience by filling out our QuickBooks Feedback form.
Rest assured that all our suggested plans will be reviewed by our engineers.
Keep in touch if you have follow-up questions about managing your estimates. I'm always here to listen and help in any way I can.
It's been two years. Can we get this feature added?
QBO is a worse product than a desktop. If you are going to Force me to start using it for my business, you could at least have more useful features.
3 years now and this option still hasn't been added. Why does QB want feedback if they are unwilling to implement it? This should not be very difficult to program. Give the customers what they want!
This is ridiculous!!!
I just transferred fro desktop to QBO and been having all kinds of issues and surprises. I just commented on another post last week about estimate columns customization issues.
Same situation in another Q&A thread. A customer had brought up the same issue I had 4 years ago and quickbooks still hasn't fixed it.
Now I was wondering if I could change the status of my estimates and once again 3 years ago someone posted the same issue and the issue is still not resolved. You have got to be kidding me!
Quickbooks is only quick at taking people's money and not very quick at resolving customer issue. Unbelievable!!!
