I transitioned from QB Desktop Pro to QBO during the pandemic and am now ready to add a user. Imagine my disappointment (among many other disappointments with QBO) to discover that the USER controls their passwords, not the Admin. This seems like a substantial security flaw and I see from viewing other threads that Intuit has NO intention of addressing this. Allow non-Admin USERS of a company's financial accounting software to control their passwords is irresponsible at best. ARE THERE ANY WORK-AROUNDS to this?

Can you elaborate what the issue is?
I set up a user, expecting to then assign that user a strong password (just as I used to do in QB Desktop). The option was not provided. Instead the user received an email link which instructed them to set it up themselves. I told them NOT to do anything until I figured this out. I called Intuit and they said that's the way it works in QBO. I researched the community threads and discovered that was correct. The end users, NOT the Admin, controls the passwords. This means the Admin has to rely on the end users to use good practices with regard to setting up passwords AND keeping the Admin apprised. I was told neither Intuit or the Admin can do anything but delete the user in case an issue arises. I do not understand why such Admin control would have not been included in QBO.
Yes, that is how the password works on QBO. You may consider switching back to QB Desktop with a one time license (to make sure you are able creating a strong password for your team) and deploy a private cloud to let your remote users access the file by internet.
