How do I turn off advertisements from quickbooks online.  I am here to work, and I am paying almost $1000 per year US dollars for this online deal.  This is disgusting that Advertisements are taking up valueable screen space and I have to constantly waste my time turning them off.  How can I turn this disgusting and unethical crap off!?  Sorry I am mad.

I would also feel the same way, Sam. I understand how bothering it would be when ads are showing up while working on relevant tasks.

Allow me to share insights about turning off or stopping advertisements from showing in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

These pop-up notifications are designed to suggest and guide you on how to improve your QuickBooks experience. Currently, there isn't an integrated way to turn off pop-up advertisements in QBO. In the meantime, let's consider clicking or No thanks button to close them.

While these in-product advertisements no longer help your working experience, I recommend sending this feature request to our product developers. They may consider your suggestion and include them in our future product updates.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Feedback under Profile.
  2. Describe how an option to turn off pop-up ads helps you work efficiently in QuickBooks.
  3. Select Next to submit.

Moreover, you can visit this article to guide you in supervising your business with these step-by-step videos: Learn about QuickBooks Online with how-to videos. Also, it contains steps on managing your company's finances.

Let us know if you have additional queries while working with QBO. We'll be glad to have you back here. Take care!

@FateCandylaneT I'm in the same position, and I think the reason why the original poster reached out to you instead of the feedback department is because some of us users (maybe a lot of us) want to be heard.  QuickBooks in-app advertising is borderline abusive.  I cannot think of any other paid service that I engage with where I am so regularly and aggressively advertised to.

Even the smaller QuickBooks plans are of notable cost to a small business.  Your company should immediately cease these intrusions on its paid customers.

I have already done this under the feedback section.  I was forced to go to QB online if I were to keep my payroll through quickbooks, so I feel upset, disappointed, angry and taken advantage of...I am paying up to 3xs more for a less usable application with advertisements, so I am venting and asking for a solution, but apparently there is none, except to accept them and accept that they are there to guide me and lead my to accounting nirvana...what a joke !

I forgot to mention, I was forced to leave quickbooks desktop (which was a great program) and go to quickbooks online if I were to keep processing payroll through quickbooks...

Totally agree!  Wish QuickBooks had given me notice that they would be removing the Desktop version - and increasing the price by a ridiculous amount - now for a "1 year subscription".  Very disappointed with Quick Books after being a loyal customer for 15 years and encouraging many others to use QuickBooks.

If QB online continues to push advertisement i am going to begin the largest campaign in America for people to choose other accounting systems.

This drives me nuts too.

Workaround:

I set up uBlock Origin on Chrome as an ad blocker and that has helped out to remove a lot of the ads:

Hey guys, we understand that you need to make money, but seriously...there is greed...and then there is Intuit.  There is absolutely NO REASON to not have a way to disable all ads if a PAYING customer so chooses.  Just like pretty much every other software product out there, once I have paid for it (or continue to pay for it as in QBO's case), I should be able to use it without being assaulted by ads.

And to not have a configuration option to summarily turn off all ads is not just frustrating...it is unethical and practically criminal.

As a user community, we ask that you put our experience using (and PAYING FOR) your products above your rabid desire to squeeze even more money out of your user base.  But perhaps this is asking too much at this point...

(And please do not reply again that this is to "improve our experience" or "introduce us to new features and products"...we clearly understand the actual, truthful reason is to improve Intuit's bottom line. Telling us about new products is what email marketing and paid social media ads are for...)

It's the end of the year and working in quickbooks has become freekin' tedious with all the ads that pop up while I'm working.  This is just awful.  The price went up recently and the number of ads have also increased.  I will definately be abandoning quickbooks soon.  It's clear you don't give a rats behind about your customers.

Frankly I am so disgusted with this cut/paste response from your team. We are paying ridiculous amounts of money for this app, and like many MANY of your angry, dissatisfied customers I am tired of having to constantly break up my workflow to close your unwelcome and disrespectful ads. I will be blocking these ads like other here. Honestly, what is the point of these ads? Who actually buys these services from you because of these intrusive ads? How much of your bottom line is worth alienating most of your users?
