After September 30, if I need to expand and hire a new bookkeeper, can I add another seat to my existing subscription? I'm not sure how that works.
I'm a small office CPA with a number of small clients on QB Desktop. Others give us records to do writeup for them and we use Desktop for that. Obviously, it would not make economic sense to switch to Online when I can use a desktop a subscription for all my client needs.
I deleted a longer rant but, I was hoping QB would raise prices and keep the best accounting product on the market.
As long as your version is supported, you can still purchase additional seats after September. They will only refuse to process new licenses. This means that if you have QB Desktop Pro Plus for 3 users and need additional seats, you can't switch to Premier Plus. You must upgrade to Enterprise.

I mean, they are doing one of those things.
We appreciate you posting here in the Community space, @Green Valiant. We'll provide details about adding another seat to your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) subscription.
Please know that after September 30, Intuit will no longer sell QBDT Pro Plus, Premier Plus, Mac Plus, and Desktop Enhanced Payroll to new US customers. For existing subscribers, they can continue to renew their company subscriptions and utilize the program.
Also, you'll want to ensure that the program you're currently using can accommodate new users if you want to hire a new bookkeeper or add another seat to your subscription. If you're using QBDT Premier, you can add up to 5 users, and if you're using the Pro version of QuickBooks, you can only include up to 3 users in your company file. For more details, please see this page: Add a user license to your QuickBooks software.
In addition, here are some articles to help you manage users and your company subscription inside QBDT:

That's helpful. I have Accountant's Desktop Plus 2024, I can go to three seats. I always thought my accountants version was a Premier Plus version, but I guess not.
