american express manually entered transactions do not stay after reconciliation

Every month I have to reconcile back to January of 2020 in order to reconcile the current month because American express payments do not stick in quickbooks.  I need an answer, this has been going on too long and no one seems able to resolve it.  I do not use bank feeds, I manually enter every transaction, every month and Every month we make 2/3 payments from bank to american express.  Every month I reconcile all banks and credit cards.  Since august, the beginning balance is off on my main bank because some payments to american express do not "stick".  I then must go back to the time the beginning balance is correct, usually January, add american express payments that are missing, reconcile January and forward until I come to the currant month.  Once I'm in the current month, I reconcile that montha and american express.  However, even though it's been reconciled, it never "sticks".  This is not acceptable, I cannot find the solution and need an agent with some experience to figure out what is going on.

american express manually entered transactions do not stay after reconciliation

Hi there, @Carolexx. Thanks for reaching out and providing detailed information about your concern.

A data integrity issue could be the reason why your transactions don't stick in QuickBooks. In this case, let's run the  Verify Rebuild Data tool that helps identify and repair data issues within your company file. Here's what you'll need to do:

  1. Click the File menu at the top.
  2. Go to Utilities, then choose Verify Data.
  3. If QuickBooks detected no problems, there's no further action needed. If you receive a message, "Your data has lost integrity", the file is damaged. Just continue to Rebuild Data to correct the problem.
  4. When you Rebuild Data, you'll receive a message to back up your company file, just click OK. The utility starts as soon as the backup is finished.
  5. Click OK when you get the message "Rebuild has completed".
  6. Run Verify Data again to check for remaining data damage.

For more details about the Verify/Rebuild process, check this article: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop.

Once done, check to see if everything is working now.

Please let me know how things go on your end. I want to ensure this gets resolved for you. Take care.
