Buy nowCan I have an access to Accountant's Copy (generated in QBD 2023 Enterprise Full version) if I am using QBD 2023 Enterprise in Trial Mode ?
Solved! Go to Solution.
You only have 2 options:
1. Purchase a new license of QB Desktop 2023 Enterprise Accountant edition
2. Ask your client to create a backup file (*.qbb) and you can restore it on your trial license for QB Desktop 2023 Enterprise. Ask your client not to access their file until you have completed the work. You will need a workaround to use the trial license for more than 30 days.
You need to use QB Desktop 2023 Enterprise Accountant to do so. You can buy the license for single user through partners if required.
I can share some information about accessing an accountant's copy, Farrukh.
Yes, you can access the Accountant's Copy using the trial version of QuickBooks. If you have received a file coming from a QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise 2023, then you can access it using QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise Accountant Edition 2022 or 2023. For more information about the limitations of using the Accountant's Copy, refer to the following article: Use the Accountant's Copy.
From here, you can access and open the file to create a working file (.QBA). After making changes to the file, export the Accountant's Changes (.QBY). Refer to this article for detailed guidance: Use an Accountant's Copy working file in QuickBooks Desktop.
You can share the following resource with your client to learn how to import and add corrections to their accounts: Import your accountant's changes into your company file in QuickBooks Desktop.
Let me know if you need further information about the accountant's copy. I'm always here to assist. Have a wonderful day!
Thanks a lot for your prompt response MJoy_D.

I am now using QBD Enterprise Solution 23.0, but as I do understand I need to install QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise Accountant Edition 2022 or 2023, so I can open the Account's Copy file (.qbx format) which was generated in QBD 2023 Enterprise ( Full Version). Please confirm, if I understand it correctly.
Thanks for your prompt reply.
Can you please provide the link for the trial version of QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise Accountant Edition 2022 or 2023 ?
Now I am using QBD 2023 Enterprise Solutions 23.0 and as I do understand I need to install QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise Accountant Edition 2022 or 2023 (I would appreciate it if it has a free trial) so I can open Accountant's Copy File generated in QBD 2023 Enterprise (Full Version)? Please confirm if I understand it correctly ?
Please also advise on the following:
The Account's Copy File was generated in QBD Enterprise ( bought in the USA). But I am based in London. As I do understand, when you purchase QBD you should choose country first. So my question is, should I choose USA and buy QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise Accountant Edition 2023 for USA to open the Account's Copy File( which was generated by QBD Enterprise bought for the USA) or I can buy QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise Accountant Edition 2023 for UK is still open Account's Copy File( which was generated by QBD Enterprise bought for USA) ?
I'd like to express my gratitude for your swift response, Farrukh. I am here to offer my assistance and provide answers to any additional questions you may have. My aim is to ensure that you can resume your work seamlessly and gain access to the Accountant's Copy without any hindrances.
To clarify, you don't need to install QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise Accountant Edition anymore. This is because you mentioned that you're already using QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise Solution 23.0. It doesn't matter if you're using a trial or full version, as long as it's compatible with your country. The Trial Mode doesn't limit your ability to work with an Accountant's Copy, so you can collaborate effectively with your accountant or bookkeeper for smooth financial management and accurate record-keeping.
Should you find the need to change your accountant's copy to a regular company file in QuickBooks Desktop, feel free to browse through this article I've got for you: Convert an accountant's copy to a regular company file.

I noticed the Intuit team here didn't fully answer your questions.
1. As I know, they don't offer any trial version for QB Desktop Enterprise Accountant edition.
2. QB Desktop UK version is discontinued. You can still install the trial version of QB Desktop UK version and use it for good if required.
3. Prepare your credit card and you can call their Sales team to buy a new license of QB Desktop 2023 US Enterprise Accountant for single user.

Another option, you can buy the license through selected partners without credit card if required. You won't worry about Intuit renewing the license without your approval later.
Hi
As you mentioned, I do not need to install the QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise Accountant Edition, as QBD Enterprise Solution 23.0 (Trial Version) does not restrict my ability to work with an Accountant's Copy. However, QBD Enterprise Solution 23.0 (Trial Version) does not allow me to convert the QBX file to QBA to open and work in the Accountant's Copy File (See screenshot attached, where I go to File> Open or Restore Company> No option where I can convert QBX to QBA). Please provide specific step-by-step guidance on how to convert QBX file to QBA or QBW file using QBD Enterprise Solution 23.0 (Trial Version).
Besides that, can I have video call with QB support so I can share my screen and get assistance about this issue. If yes, please let me know an email where I can send video call invite via Zoom or Teams or any other platform you find suitable for you? It is super urgent issue for me, as so far all guidance has not worked for me.
Hi
This is what I can see when I open QBD Enterprise Solution 23.0 (Trial Version). There is no option to convert the Accountant's Copy File (QBX) to QBA or QBW (see Screenshot 2 ).
Can you please provide step-by-step guidance on how to convert QBX file to QBA or QBW file using QBD Enterprise Solution 23.0 (Trial Version)?
Hi there, Farrukh. I appreciate the screenshots you have shared with us.
Let me chime in and share some insight as to why you don't have the option to convert the Accountant's Copy File (QBX) to QBA or QBW. Usually, QBX to QBA or QBW files are typically used for Accountant's Copies in QuickBooks. If you are not using an Accountant's Copy or if the (QBX) to QBA or QBW file was not created as an Accountant's Copy, the option to convert it to QBA or QBW may not be available.
With that said, the QBX to QBA or QBW file you are trying to convert is not compatible with the version of QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise Solution you are using. Ensure that the QBX file was created using a compatible version of QuickBooks. Different versions of QuickBooks may have varying features and capabilities. Also, I just wanted to inform you that, unfortunately, there isn't a trial version available for QuickBooks Desktop for Accountants version. You'll need to either purchase or subscribe to the software.
Also, regarding contacting our Customer support team using video calls, we don't currently offer video call support for our customer service team. However, you can schedule an appointment to speak with one of our agents, and they can do a screen-sharing session with you. This way, you'll be able to work together and get the help you need promptly and effectively.

Dear QB Support Team
Thanks a lot. Now it is clear what to do. Also, can you please advise me on the following question:
I am providing accounting services for clients located in the US, although I am based in the UK.
If Back up Copy or Accountant's Copy was generated using the QB Desktop for the US, can I also buy QB for the US, even though, I am located in the UK? Wouldn't there be any compatibility issues or technical problems if I opt to use QB Desktop for the US while being in the UK?
You can purchase QB Desktop US version for use anywhere in the world. You can purchase it directly from Intuit by calling their sales team and using your credit card. Otherwise, you can purchase it through selected partners.
