Are 1099's emailed to vendors when you e-file it?

I'd be delighted to answer your query, napamarketplace.

 

When e-filing 1099's, you'll be asked to enter an email address. This is used to send an invitation so they can access and view their 1099 forms online. If the email address field is blank, QuickBooks Online will use automatically the previously entered.

 

You can resend the invite to your vendor for them to download the 1099-NEC form on their end. All you have to is send them a reminder. Here's how:

  1. From the left panel, select Worker/Payroll and then choose Contractors
  2. You'll have to click each contractor's name to resend the 1099 Form.
  3. Click on the hyperlinked Send a reminder beside the contractor's name.

You might also want to review the archived 1099 forms in your account by following the steps below:

  1. Go to QuickBooks Online.
  2. Go to Payroll tax, then 1099 filings.
  3. Select View 1099 to view a PDF copy.
