Buy nowA Paypal transaction is showing up as money spent instead of money received. i know how to exclude this transaction, but i need to create a new transaction showing that i received this money. i do not want to re-import data from paypal, i want to create a new transaction manually.
journal entries require credit and debit so that doesn't seem to get me where i need to be, which is showing a credit of $xx so that i can reconcile this account.
Let's create a new transaction to record the money received from PayPal, artofalexgross.
You can use the Bank Deposit screen to record the payment. Here are the steps.
If you need to report why the PayPal transaction is showing up as money spent instead of money received, I'll let you contact our QuickBooks Live Team. They can create a case and send it to our Product Team for further investigation. You can also contact PayPal and check if there's an issue on their end.
When everything looks good on the Banking page, you can categorize and match transactions. Then, start reconciling bank accounts. Check out these articles below for instructions and detailed steps.
I hope you find the steps easy. Get back to me if there's anything else you want to ask. Just leave a comment below and I'll get back to you.

Thanks for following and completing the steps mentioned above, artofalexgross.
When you manually add a transaction to QuickBooks you'll be able to view it in the register for the corresponding bank account. Here's how:
1. Hover over the Banking tab in the left navigation menu and click Banking.
2. Make sure the correct bank account is highlighted blue at the top of the page.
3. Select Go to bank register above the Action column to the right.
4. You'll then be able to locate the transaction in the register.
You're good to go! Please feel free to reach back out if you have any other questions.
