Bills

All of a sudden I have paid bills showing as unpaid.

Now in October and bills paid in July,

they appear in Bank Current Account.

How can I make them paid without affecting the account balance?

The bank account does reconcile.

Have run Verify and Re-Build- no effect, should I try using File Doctor?

I appreciate you for performing the initial troubleshooting step in fixing possible data issues with your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) company file, @AndrewBI.

When some of your bills show as unpaid even though they've been paid, your company file may be experiencing a minor data issue. To fix this, you're right, the next resolution is to repair your company file using QuickBooks File Doctor. Let me guide you how.

The first step is to download and install QuickBooks Tool Hub (it's recommended to use Windows 10, 64-bit).

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. Download the most recent version (1.4.0.0) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  3. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it (like your Downloads folder or your Windows desktop).
  4. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  5. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  6. When the install finishes, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.

Once done, continue the process by performing Steps 2 to 5 in this article: Fix company file and network issues with QuickBooks File Doctor.

In case the issue persists after using QuickBooks File Doctor, I'd recommend checking out Solutions 3 and 4 in this article: Fix data damage on your QuickBooks Desktop company file.

After that, you can pull up a ready-made vendor report of your choice from the Reports menu. This is to effectively monitor where your company stands in terms of expenses and accounts payable. Then, customize it to get the information you need. For the detailed steps, you can refer to this article: Customize vendor reports.

Please let me know how it goes by writing a comment below. If you have other concerns or follow-up inquiries about managing your company file and vendor expenses just select the Reply button. I'm always around to help. Take care always.

Did all of the above but didn't make any difference. Howver I did solve the problem, in that bills had 'Uncatorgarised' entries. Having removed then bills showed up as being paid.

However still have an UPDATE problem in that File Doctor shows error of 12007?? Which advises QB did not update correctly??

Thanks for getting in touch with us again, @AndrewBI,

I'm glad that you're able to rectify the issue with your bills. I can share some more information about the error 12007 you're getting. This error code can occur due to several possible reasons listed below:

  • QuickBooks is unable to connect the Internet causing error in downloading the updates
  • Desktop is unable to establish a connection for QuickBooks
  • Firewall or Internet security settings is blocking the program from accessing the server
  • Incorrect SSL settings can also lead to QuickBooks Error Code 12007
  • The default browser on the computer is note Internet Explorer

To correct this, follow the steps found in this link: Get help with errors 12002, 12007, 12009, 12029, and 12031 when updating

However, if the problem persists, use the Repair Tool. It fixes most issues with the software. Here's how:

  1. Create a back up your company file beforehand to avoid any accidental data loss.
  2. Reboot the computer and tap the Windows Start menu.
  3. Find Control Panel on the search field or select it from the list.
  4. Press Programs and Features then Uninstall a Program.

Note: If you don't see Programs and Features, select Programs instead. Then select Program and Features.

  5. Pick QuickBooks from the list of Programs, then press Uninstall/Change.
  6. Click on Continue, or Next. then Repair.
  7. Press Next again then wait for the tool to start its diagnosis.
  8. Hit Finish when done.
