Budgets

Let me guide you on how to create a budget for a new fiscal year, Seyp80657.
 

QuickBooks Desktop provides budgeting and forecasting tools to help you plan and make business decisions. To do this, you can follow the steps below: 

1. Click Company at the top menu bar.
2. From the drop-down list, click Planning & Budgeting.
3. Choose Set Up Budgets.
   
   
4. Ensure to set the year and type for the new budget.
5. Hit Next.
   
6. This will show the FY 22 for the new budget.

I'm here to share some insights about creating budget in QuickBooks Desktop.

You should be able to switch to the fiscal year and create a budget. if not, let's check and make sure all the updates are installed successfully. You can use this link as  your reference: Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.

If the issue persists, we can use the Verify and Rebuild utility tool to resolve minor company file data problems. Here's how:

1. Go to the File menu, then Utilities.
2. Select Rebuild Data.
3. In the QuickBooks Information window, hit OK and follow the onscreen steps to save a backup.
4. Let the tool repair your file.
5. When the tool finishes, choose OK.
6. Go to the File menu again.
7. Select Utilities, and then hit Verify Data.
8. The tool check your file for data issues. If QuickBooks can't find any problems, click on OK.

Budgets are always based on your fiscal year / reporting year.

If your budget starts in January and your fiscal year does not, then your fiscal year is not set up correctly in QuickBooks. To change your fiscal year, pick Company | My Company from the QB Menu, then click the little fork (supposed to be a pencil, but it looks like a fork) and change change the year under Report Information:
