Can anyone help me with a problem Im having when Im recording a check..Im on a MacBook and I can't enter a check # in the field..it just says to print??

QuickBooks Desktop for Mac allows you to enter check numbers manually upon creating them. You can also make changes to any content on the check. Since this isn't your case, let's verify and rebuild your data. This can help fix data-related issues on your company file.

 

To do that:

  1. Select on File.
  2. Press on then select Utilities.
  3. Select Verify Data, then select OK to close all windows. If you see “Your data has failed the integrity check” you need to rebuild your file. If there are no problems with your data, you’re done.

Here's how you can rebuild your file:

  1. Press on File, then select Utilities.
  2. Select Rebuild Data, then select OK to close all windows.
  3. QuickBooks will ask to make a backup before rebuilding your company file, select OK. If you don’t want to do a backup, select Cancel to continue rebuilding your company file.
  4. Once the rebuild's finished, select OK.

De-select the printer icon at the bottom of the check window.

Thanks for the help..I ended up having to upload my files and qb had to do some stuff so I can log on as admin. but once that gets completed maybe the info you provided will help
