Can billable costs only be updated manually after incurring the costs?

I am billing hundreds of line items via Billable Costs, but the pricing was outdated when I ordered them via Purchase Order.  I have not only updated the prices in the Bill on the day I entered the BIll, but I've also since updated the prices manually, but they don't reflect in the invoice when importing the billable costs.  The billable cost is set at the price that I created the PO with, not with the amount I entered on our Bill, nor the amount entered as the current price.  Is there any way to have the billable cost price update in the invoice without manually changing each and every price while in the invoice?

Can billable costs only be updated manually after incurring the costs?

I appreciate the detailed information, jesse36.

I'm here to share some information on how inventory works in QuickBooks Online.

The price set to the billable cost will not update the cost under Products and Services instantly. It will only update when you edit the item costs manually.

Here's how to edit your product and service item in QBO:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Products and services.
  3. Locate the product you want to adjust and click the Edit link under the Action column.
  4. Adjust the cost of the item then click Save and close.

If you still need more clarification about the cost of an inventory item, please let me know. I'll be glad to help.
