Can employees designate CashApp for their direct deposit?

My employee said she hasn't received her direct deposit. However, on my QB Paycheck List, her Direct Deposit status is "Processed" and the funds have been taken from my bank account.  She said she used a routing and account number from her CashApp account when she filled out the payment info... however when I look at her account/routing numbers - they don't match her CashApp ones - AND the bank that's listed in her profile is "Sutton Bank", which she has never heard of.

Does anyone know what might be going on?

Can employees designate CashApp for their direct deposit?

I understand the importance of compensating your employee on time, @danname1. I'd like to help you figure out what's causing the differences between the routing and account numbers from the Cash App account.

Cash App partners with Sutton Bank, that’s why that’s the bank listed in her profile. QuickBooks Online allows you to deposit if you’re using a valid bank account and routing numbers. In this case, you’ll want to reach out to their support team to verify whether or not connecting it to QuickBooks is possible.

Since this involves routing and account numbers, please know we’re unable to address this in the Community for security reasons. Thus, I recommend reaching out to our Payroll experts. They can conduct a direct deposit trace and investigate as to why she’s unable to receive the funds.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to Help (?) icon.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. Enter your payroll concern, then click Let's talk.
  4. Choose a way to connect with us: Start a chat or Get a callback.

We currently have high contact volumes both via phone and chat. Please bear with us and know that our representatives are eager to help you. Just take note of our support hours so we can address your concerns on time.

Feel free to check out this article if you need to generate some reports: Run payroll reports.

Let me know if you need further assistance involving the direct deposit or any other bank account concerns. I’ll be here to guide you through again.

Can employees designate CashApp for their direct deposit?

Hi there, @tmcfarland.

Welcome to the Community! You've come to the right place to get the answer you're looking for.

In QuickBooks Desktop, your employees must have valid U.S. bank accounts to use the direct deposit feature. However, Cashapp is not currently supported for direct deposit functionality. The program supports the following:

  • Checking accounts
  • Savings accounts
  • Money Market account

To set up direct deposit for an employee, you'll need to collect their banking information, including their account and routing number. You'll enter these for each employee in their profile.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Employees and choose Employee Center to open your employee list.
  2. Choose the employee's name.
  3. Select Payroll Info tab.
  4. Click Direct Deposit button.
  5. In the Direct Deposit window, select Use Direct Deposit for [employee's name].
  6. Select whether to deposit the paycheck into one or two accounts.
  7. Enter the employee's financial institution information (Bank Name, Routing No., Account No., and Account Type).
  8. If you choose to deposit to two accounts, enter the amount or percentage that the employee wants to deposit to the first account in the Amount to Deposit field. The remainder goes to the second account.
  9. Select OK to save the information.
  10. Enter your direct deposit PIN when prompted.
