Can I import/link a PDF receipt from my email into Transactions instead of scanning a paper copy with my camera?

I know a way you can import your PDF receipts to QuickBooks, @guido8008.

At the moment, there's no direct way to import or link a receipt into QuickBooks Solopreneur. As a workaround, you can download your files from your email and then upload them to the program using a web browser.

To do this, you can follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Transactions menu, then choose Receipts.
  2. Above the save button, click the New transaction dropdown, then select Upload from this device.

  3. Select the receipt file that you want to upload.

If you're looking for the exact process, you might consider switching to a QuickBooks Online subscription. This version allows you to directly email your receipts to the system. It will then automatically extract information such as dates, amounts, vendors, and the last four digits of the credit card from the receipt images.

In case you've connected your bank to QuickBooks Solopreneur, you can refer to this article to learn how to categorize your downloaded transactions: Categorize bank transactions in QuickBooks Solopreneur.
