Yes, you can import your Square transactions to QuickBooks Online, but you'll have to do it manually through the banking page, treasurer170.

To do so, create or download a supported file using the Square statement to import it to QuickBooks.

If your bank account is connected to QuickBooks, you don't need to manually import Square transactions to avoid duplicates. Payments processed via Square will automatically download into QuickBooks, allowing you to match or categorize them directly.

The possible reason why you didn't see a match is that QuickBooks matches the items in a transaction to products/services within QuickBooks based on the item name:

  • If the items in the transaction match, QuickBooks uses the product or service.
  • If the item in the transaction doesn't match, QuickBooks uses the default item called Square Sales and will update the description line with the item name provided by Square.

Please take note that QuickBooks may not use the item from the transaction because the matching product/service is not a product, but is a product category instead. You'll have to look into the transaction details to find a match.

If you don't see an existing transaction created with the same details in QuickBooks, it's not considered a match. You have the option to add the transaction, but be sure to assign the correct accounts for accurate financial tracking.

Once all transactions are matched or categorized, I recommend reconciling them to maintain accurate financial records.
