Join nowHello,
I Backed up QB Pro 2019 for accountant to re-categorize some accounts. She gave back revised backup and I opened the backup in my QB’s using the Open or Restore Company tab. Now I no longer can open my attachments. I tried moving the revised backup file to the location of my other quickbook company files and where the “attached” folder is located. However, when I try to open the revised back up file it does not show up because it is a back up is not a company file. Hope this make sense. Thanks for reading.
Hi @CT at DA,
I'll share insight on the backup process for QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) products.
Attached Documents aren't included whenever you create a backup of your QBDT company. You'll have to back up the Attach folder manually and place it into the same location as your restored company file.
You can open this article for additional details about the Document Center in QBDT: QuickBooks Document Center: FAQs and common issues. This includes troubleshooting steps specific for issues you can encounter while working with a backup company file.
Post a comment below if you need further assistance. I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
I restored the backup in same way you told (placed the documents folders into the same location). But still its not working. The documents are very important for me and don't have time to upload again all the files individually to each transactions. Please please please help me in this.
