Can't open Desktop QB without subscription

You can still purchase the one time license for QB Desktop 2021 Pro to replace your expired license. Utilize the trial version for QB Desktop 2021 to open your file immediately for the time being. 

I believe the trial version is the subscription that expired because we've had this version for a bit now. I'm not sure what you mean by "buy QB Desktop". We purchased the installation disk from the store, so why would we need to buy another desktop version? It just stopped opening our file because it wants us to now pay for a subscription.

You need a new license to access the company file. It's part of the process since your previous account includes a subscription.

To purchase a new license, don't use your original install file so you won't see the lapsed message. Use the latest install file available on the QuickBooks Downloads & Updates page and get the download link for your version of QuickBooks.

To download the installation file:

1. From the Downloads & Updates page, select your country, product, and version.

3. Select Download.

When you install QuickBooks, you'll need to enter your license and product number. If you can find these details, can sign into your Intuit account and view your license from the Products & Services section.

You were purchasing QB Desktop 2021 Premier Plus. It is a subscription license and you have to pay for renewal every year for your program to work. If you're using the current rate, you'll have to pay $550 worth of renewal for a single user. Another option, buy a new one-time license for QB Desktop 2021 Pro for single user and it's cheaper than your renewal price.

I did all of this and after redownloading when I tried to open it i got the same message that said my subscription is expired.

Login to your CAMPS and check your license status. As long as your license expires, you won't be able to use it. Renew your license or purchase a new one time license as I mentioned earlier.
