QuickBooks uses security measures to safeguard your company’s data. Also, know that QuickBooks Online credentials will only work if the user’s name and password are the same as your QuickBooks Desktop login.
If you can get his password, you have the option to reset it. This way, you’ll be able to log in using your own credentials when opening the file. I’m glad to show you the steps.
For more information about recovering passwords, check out this guide: Reset your password for QuickBooks Desktop.
On the other hand, if the person is no longer reachable, you’ll want to contact our support team to assist you further. Our phone and chat representatives have enough tools to get the file open.

Don’t hold back to drop a comment if you have any other questions or concerns besides accessing the QBDT file. I’ll be here to help. Take care always!
