Thanks for visiting us here today, @bethgorup.

I know a way how to print a list of bank rules. You can export the list in Excel. Let's go to the rules page to see it.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Banking and then select Rules.
  2. Click the drop-down arrow beside the New rule button.
  3. Select Export rules.

An Excel spreadsheet will open; from there you can sort the rules by name and then print.

Learn more about exporting reports at this guide: Export reports, lists, and other data from QuickBooks Online.

You can also browse specific topics here if you need help with other tasks in QBO.

Feel welcome to message me anytime if you still have questions or concerns with bank rules. I'm always here for you. Take care and have a wonderful weekend ahead.

I tried to export rules using this explanation and it doesn't create an Excel spreadsheet any longer.  It isn't a type that allows me to open it at all.  Is there another option to print the rules?

Hi there, @MClark316.

I appreciate you for following the steps shared by my colleague above. Let me help you share some troubleshooting steps to export your bank rules.

I've also replicated your concern, and I was able to open the excel spreadsheet for my bank rules. To sort this out, let's perform general troubleshooting steps to fix your concern. This way, we'll be able to export your bank rules and print them. You can try logging into your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account in a private browser.

Here are the different keyboard shortcuts to open a private browser:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

If it works fine using the private browser, open your account using the original browser and clear the browser's cache. You may also try accessing your account using another supported browser.

In addition, you may want to use the bank rule feature to help you review your transactions and use this reference to ensure your account are balanced and accurate. :

If there's anything else that I can help you with, let me know in the comments. I'll be happy to help.
