Cannot convert accountant's copy transfer file

I have been unable to convert my clients' accountant's copy transfer files for the last month or so.  I get a box that says Error:  Failed!   I used to be able to reboot my computer and it would work one time, but that no longer helps.  I have run updates in all versions of QuickBooks that I have (including 2019), but it does not help.  I get this error in every version/year, as well.  How do I fix this??

Cannot convert accountant's copy transfer file

Thanks for posting here in the Community, TaxInIowa.

You've come to the right place. I have just the steps you need to fix this error and make sure you're able to convert the accountant's copy to a working file.

A quick way to resolve this is to copy the Accountant's Copy Transfer file on your Desktop if it's currently stored in a USB or external hard drive. Once it's saved locally on your computer, try to convert it again to a working file.

I'm also including our guide on how to resolve errors when working on an accountant's copy, which offers more information and other suggested solutions, just in case.

Please let me know if this helps you convert the file, it's my top priority that this gets resolved. Thanks for reaching out, I look forward to hearing from you. Have a great day!
